Catalogue Description:
Coffeepot, silver. Body of pot has hammered surface, is square in section and flares outward strongly at the base to a plain, perpendicular, conforming foot band. Just above juncture of body and foot band are five rivets on each side. Body flares slightly at top to shallow-scalloped rim; below rim is applied band with four rivets on each side. Elongated, s-shaped spout, rectangular in section, joins body at lower juncture with an applied, cross-shaped cartouche, each arm terminating in trefoil and a rivet. Top of spout is connected to body by scrolling brace, riveted at both junctures and bifurcated at body juncture. Handle is rectangular in section with ivory insulators, terminating in a scroll and is joined to lower body with large rivet. Upper handle juncture is trifurcated, lower branch scrolled; side branches terminate in riveted trefoil. Applied thumb piece has two rivets and terminates in trefoil. Domed lid with hinge strap that follows the lid (two rivets) and scrolls at crest of lid to form finial and also scrolls at side of body near handle. CONDITION: Normal wear and scratches. Monogram removed from side of body.
