Catalogue Description:
A brooch of constructivist design. The central horizontal silver bar, capped with a small brass cylinder and topped with an ivory button, acts as a frame for the brass, copper and wood elements. A polished wooden semi-circle inscribed within a brass band is set onto a perforated brass rectangular sheet with a slightly curved top. Below is a sheet of solid brass cut in an abstract triangular pattern, decorated with a shallow brass cylinder and set onto a second rectangular sheet of perforated brass. Various applied squares, elongated rectangles and a small triangle in copper, decorated with a shallow brass cylinder topped with wood, are set onto the triangular brass template. The whole is set with a silver pin on the reverse secured with a roll-over clasp. CONDITION: Overall good condition.
