Catalogue Description:
"Contempri Design, Eclipse Pattern." White bodied, semi-porcelain high-necked teapot (a) with vitreous glaze and transfer-printed decoration; and lid (b). From wide, round, flat bottom, teapot rises to squat body with curved shoulder, wide sloping collar, then to cylindrical neck that ends in a flat top with flared lip. Curved handle attached at shoulder and top portion of neck; opposing spout attached at lower part of collar, tapers upward to narrow opening then flares out at mouth. Band of transfer-printed decoration encircles body below shoulder consisting of upright rectangles with concave sides in alternating blue and green. Lid is cylindrical form which flares outward as it rises to flat, circular top (lid is trumpet shaped). CONDITION: Good; tiny flecks in glaze all over body; some dirt or other substance on decorative band.
