Pedestal base attached under front part of seat with screws (providing cantilevered support) composed of two symmetrical halves aligned with narrow space between them. Together these halves form a columnar rod that angles slightly forward and widens at base; at the base, the rod bends backward and forms two long splayed feet in a "V" shape along the floor. A large metal plate is attached to the underside of the columnar rod where it bends into the feet; plastic floor glides under the metal plate and under each of the two feet of the pedestal. Condition: Very good; normal wear or age reflected in both the upholstery and metal.
