Catalogue Description:
Low rectangular wooden box with hinged lid, covered with gold-colored velvet on exterior; top edges of box are rounded; lid attached with two hinges at back and secures to box with a metal clasp at the front. Interior of box has two raised supports slotted to hold six pieces of flatware and is lined with rusched (and now faded) red silk; inside of lid lined with padded red silk panel down center flanked by strips of black and gray diagonally striped fabric. Condition: Fair; velvet on exterior is badly worn around edges, including some tears at corners; fabric on interior is badly faded and frayed.
