Textile fragment, probably from a mantle, with a tapestry-woven band decorated with 4 1/2 multicolored birds in squares surrounded by a red plain-weave ground. The cotton warps are doubled. Condition: fair. Size: adult. Probable wearer: male or undetermined. Field: vertical cotton warp. Cotton weft. Predominantly warp-faced plain weave. Border: cotton warp. Camelid fiber weft-faced plain weave with grouped warps. Reinforced tapestry weave. Camelid fiber edge embellishment may be an ancient repair.
