CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Card table with folding top, serpentine shape. Closed: four trumpet-shaped reeded legs with egg and dart carved collars at top and three turnings at bottoms. Side aprons carved in floral and ribbon motifs which are repeated twice on front apron. Oval boss at center of front apron carved in acanthus motif with egg at center. Egg and dart carving at front top corners. Open: rear legs slide backward to support top when open and reveal storage space concealed by apron when closed and by top when open. Top upholstered in circle of green baise with gilded leather border. Circular carved and sunken dish at each corner. CONDITION: Top refinished by vendor prior to delivery to Museum. Bottom of legs scratched due to normal wear. Residue of wax throughout carving, but nothing major. Four scratches on side edges of open top. Leather border missing on either side where top leaves fold. Dark spot on baise. Otherwise excellent.
