CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Wooden ovoid bowl in the form of a bird capturing a fish. Bird's head with long beak and neck extends from one end of bowl, its wings from the sides, and its tail from the other end. Underneath bird's neck and head is a fish. The fish's tail is joined to the surface of the bowl and its mouth is joined to the bird's beak. Bird and fish have incised geometric ornamentation filled in with white pigment or lime. In relief on underside of bowl near tail is human face with long narrow and large oval eyes. Condition: Tiny white spots on interior. White pigment loss all over, but not recent.
