CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Butter knife with a plain blade. Decoration of the handle begins at the blade with a molded oval followed by an inch of undecorated shaft. Then strap work design followed by another oval projection that is decorated with a floret within a roundel flanked by symmetrical leaves. The handle then flares with straight lines to a rounded end. The lower part of this trapezoidal shape contains a bouquet of molded flowers and leaves surmounted by a band of parallel zigzag lines. Then there is a large field for initials, scripted "CF", surmounted by a horizontal band of five roundels each containing a floret. This in turn is surmounted by a half circle area with molded flowers and leaves and finally an arched egg and dart band at the end of the handle. The reverse has identical decoration, but there are no initials. Westminster Pattern. Condition: The blade is slightly dented and there is overall scratching.
