    CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Dinner Plate, Porcelain. White Body. Cream ground. Blue/gray border to rim edge. Rim with inscription in five two line sections with entwined pink and blue/green snakes between each section: "THERE: ARE: THE: FOUR / THAT: ARE: NEVER" "CONTENT: THAT: HAVE: NEVER / BEEN: FILLED: SINCE" "THE: DEWS: BEGAN / JACALAS; MOUTH" "AND: THE: GLUT: OF: THE: KITE: AND" "THE: HANDS: OF: THE: APE / AND: THE: EYES: OF: MAN". Center with two long thick entwined snakes, one cream and light brown, other gray/brown with light-blue markings. Naked child with blue hair holding blue staff in coiled snake at bottom. One of a set of twelve dinner plates, all different, with quotes from R. Kipling; see 1990.145.16 - .27 CONDITION - Very good original condition.
