CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Spoon. Dessert spoon, silver-plate plain bowl. First third of handle undecorated. Decoration begins with molded narrow horizontal band then two small triangles with narrow horizontal bands above and below. Main motif in trapezoidal area with asymmetrical bamboo branch diagonally dividing space. At upper end towards crest molded butterfly. Crest gently arched with rounded shoulders with zigzag band fitted into arch and three short diagonal bands below, center one with zigzag pattern, outer ones with three roundels. Reverse with similar decoration. In trapezoidal area molded bird on asymmetrical leafy branch and stylized quarter sunburst in upper corner towards crest. Japanese pattern. Condition: Very good original condition; plate bright; light overall scratching due to normal wear.
