    CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Ensuite with 1990.230.7 table. Arm Chair: Silver-gilt over gesso carved wood. Seat and back form open scallop shell, hinged at juncture of seat and back. Scrolling arms carved as snake-like sea monsters with heads on seat. Cabriole legs as irregular surfaced elongated sea shells stained black with inverted gilt opening at knees. CONDITION - Structure stable. Numerous areas of gilt loss-revealing gesso on center back, front of arms, and heads of sea monsters.
