CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Pitcher. Unglazed (inside glazed) buff stoneware. Pear-shaped with high relief scenes taken from a painting by John Singleton Copley of Samuel and Eli alternating with a rabbi. Scenes are set in ogive formed arches terminating in masks between foliage. Modeled ribbed C-shaped handle, separately molded and applied. Condition: Good. Base cracked and chipped. Belly: cracks under handle. Inside: dirty.
