Catalogue Description: Circular medal. Obverse: Female allegorical figure wearing helmet cloaking herself and semi-nude female figure with braids with the American flag, sun in background at right, legend in relief around edge, "UNIVERSAL - EXPOSITIO[N] SAINT - LOUIS - UNITED - STATES - OF - AMERICA - / M - C - M - IV" [some letters partially obscured by figures]. Reverse: American eagle with outstretched wings atop rectangular plaque containing legend in relief, "BRONZE - MEDAL - / LOUISIANA - PURCHASE - / - EXPOSITION -," pair of dolphins below.
