Obverse: In center, seated allegorical female figure of America, with American crest at side, holding out laurel wreath, with symbols of arts and industry at feet at left (vase, bust statue, mallet and square, palette and brushes, gear wheel) and building in background at right; border of egg-and-dart and stars with 4 oval registers containing allegorical figures at cardinal points. Reverse: In center, wreath of laurel branches framing legend in relief, "AWARDED BY / UNITED STATES / CENTENNIAL / COMMISSION"; around edge, legend in relief, "INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION, / PHILADELPHIA, MDCCCLXXVI."
