CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Chair with chrome-plated steel frame and seat of black hemp canvas and leather. Frame formed of tubular metal; four legs with rubber foot pads, back legs slightly canted; narrow tubular stretcher between back legs. Legs support seat frame which is generally crescent-shaped in profile with the inner curve conforming to the human body; two sides of frame joined by horizontal stretchers at top in back and below seat in front. All metal parts soldered together. Seat consists of rectangular piece of heavy black hemp canvas that is wrapped around the inner curve of the frame from one side to the other; ends of canvas joined in back by springs hooked through holes reinforced with metal-rings. Down front of seat, thick black leather in the general shape of an hourglass is stitched to the hemp canvas, with the widest parts at the top and bottom edges; canvas also edged with black leather trim.
CONDITION: Excellent.
