    INSCRIPTIONS Around frame of seal in center of platter, molded inscription: "GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC / 1861 VETERAN 1866" Around bouge, in molded letters formed by beaded dots: "[top] THE / [bottom] GRAND / [right side] ARMY OF / [left side] REPUBLIC"

    CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Colorless pressed glass platter. Oblong rectangle with angled rim and canted corners. In center, molded decoration of military medal consisting of (from top to bottom): pin with eagle and cannons; "ribbon" of American flag; and star-shaped medal with round seal in center showing several figures who appear to be making an oath, frame of seal inscribed with "GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC / 1861 VETERAN 1866". Bouge decorated with faceted pattern. Rim decorated with American crest at each canted corner and inscribed with letters formed by beaded dots, inscription does not read in clockwise direction: "[top] THE / [bottom] GRAND / [right side] ARMY OF / [left side] REPUBLIC". CONDITION: Good; few small chips and spots of dirt or other residue around edge.
