MARKINGS Impressed on inside bottom, from top to bottom: (1) "SAMUEL / HAMLIN" within two arching, stacked banners above decorative foliate form. (2) badly worn oval stamp containing illegible letters in banners around top and bottom edge framing an illegible picture in center.

CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Highly polished pewter basin, rises from flat round bottom to slightly flaring sides, then angles out at top to form narrow flat rim. CONDITION: Fair; heavily tarnished, especially on inside; allover scratches and pitting; few dark spots of discoloration.
