Visitors are invited to contribute images to community-curated heritage panels inspired by Judy Chicago’s The Dinner Party, which will highlight the influential women in our lives.

Performances by the Joan Ashley Percussion Ensemble, lo-fi punk group Making Friendz, and New Zealand contemporary soul group Fredericks Brown.

The Brooklyn Ballet performs excerpts from their spring 2012 program, which draws on influences including Stravinsky, Isadora Duncan, and hip-hop. Free tickets available at the Visitor Center at 5 p.m.

The Bad Feminist Readings, produced by Sarah Gentile and Sarah Giovanniello, is a feminist reading of over a century's worth of popular books written with women in mind. Free tickets available at the Visitor Center at 5 p.m.

Create your own illustration to accompany a newspaper headline, inspired by the exhibition Newspaper Fiction: The New York Journalism of Djuna Barnes, 1913–1919. Free tickets available at the Visitor Center at 5:30 p.m.

The original Ladies of Ubiquita, DJs Reborn, Moni, Selly, and shErOck, celebrate the women who've inspired them.

Book Club

Author Sara Marcus leads a lively discussion of her book Girls to the Front: The True Story of the Riot Grrrl Revolution. A book signing follows in the Museum Store.

Brooklyn-based performance artist Queen Godis presents hip-hop soul.

At the Brooklyn Museum's Target First Saturdays, thousands of visitors enjoy free programs of art and entertainment each month from 5 to 11 p.m. All evening long, the Museum Café serves a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, and beverages, and a cash bar offers wine and beer. Parking is a flat rate of $4 starting at 5 p.m. All other Saturdays, the Museum closes at 6 p.m.

Please note that due to limited capacities, some Target First Saturday programs require tickets. Ticket lines often form 30 minutes before ticket distribution at the Visitor Center located in the Rubin Lobby. Members may pick up tickets from the Membership Desk beginning at 2 p.m. while supplies last. Programs subject to change without notice.
