Visit: Group Tours

Guided group tours of the Brooklyn Museum's permanent collections and special exhibitions can be arranged for adult groups with at least 10 members. Tours are led by professionally trained educators who strive to engage participants and stimulate discussion. Each tour lasts approximately one hour and can be tailored to meet a variety of interests. All group tours must be scheduled a minimum of three weeks in advance.

Reservation Process

To schedule a guided tour, please contact us at least three weeks in advance. You may submit a reservation request online or fax a completed reservation request form to (718) 501-6150. Call or e-mail us for more information. We suggest that group visit requests provide at least two possible times and/or dates.

Guided tours involve walking and standing. We do have limited seating in select galleries, and all of our galleries are handicap accessible. Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited in number. If you or any members of your group would like a wheelchair, notify us ahead of time.

Self-guided groups that prefer to visit any of our exhibitions without a Museum Guide can do so, but reservations are still required. Please contact us at least two weeks in advance.

Once the date and time of your visit are confirmed, we will send you a confirmation letter with check-in information and group tour policies. Guided groups should plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. An advance deposit is required.

Catered Meals

The Brooklyn Museum is pleased to offer gourmet catered lunch options by Restaurant Associates. Restaurant Associates provides dining services for many of the country's finest cultural institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Guggenheim Museum.

Groups that choose a Museum-catered meal will enjoy one-hour seating in a lovely, private dining area. Groups of more than 20 people planning to eat at the Museum are encouraged to select a catered meal. Receptions and personalized menus are available upon request.

Museum Café Policy

Groups may eat on their own in the Museum Café; seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Outside food is not permitted in the Café or any part of the Museum. During the warmer months, groups may bring their own bag lunches or purchase our Sandwich Tote Bag Lunch to go and sit in the Sculpture Garden, located at the rear of the Museum. Groups may also make use of the Public Plaza at the front entrance.
