Internships

Learn from, and work with, experts from all areas of the Brooklyn Museum. As an intern, you’ll be paired with a supervisor and integrated into one of our departments, participating fully in day-to-day workplace activities and projects with the guidance of full-time staff members. In addition to gaining extensive work experience, you’ll have the opportunity to attend seminars that focus on the role of museums in society today, and how they might imagine the future. Internships not listed are currently filled. (Also, check our ongoing opportunities for teens.)

The application deadline for summer 2018 internships is April 20.

Volunteer

Get involved in the day-to-day life of the Museum, while providing essential support for what we do, by joining us as a volunteer.

We're looking for engaged, thoughtful, and energetic people who want to learn about subjects they're passionate about while gaining rare access to the inner workings of a world-class cultural institution. We'll make every effort to place you in an assignment that matches your experience and interests. And remember, you must be at least 18 years old to volunteer.

Most assignments are project-based and take place in a variety of departments, including Finance, Libraries & Archives, Conservation, Government Relations, Curatorial, Education, Development, Membership, Human Resources, Merchandising, Visitor Engagement, and the Director's Office.

To get started, email your résumé and a brief note describing what you're interested in. Thank you for considering volunteering at the Brooklyn Museum!
