Sunday, December 15, 2019

2–3:30 pm

Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium, 3rd Floor

Warm up with wonderful wintery music, performed by the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra. The program includes Brooklyn native Richard White's “Childhood Scenes,” the ever-popular “Peter and the Wolf” by Sergei Prokofiev, and Duke Ellington's Nutcracker Suite, a jazz tribute to the Tchaikovsky classic. Plus, enter the BSO’s raffle to win the opportunity to conduct Leroy Anderson's festive “Sleigh Ride” and have lunch with the maestro, BSO artistic director Nicholas Armstrong.

Program:

  • Richard White: “Childhood Scenes”
  • Sergei Prokofiev: Op. 67, “Peter and the Wolf”
  • Duke Ellington: Nutcracker Suite
  • Leroy Anderson: “Sleigh Ride”

Advance tickets are $15 for seniors and Museum Members, and $20 for non-Members; same-day tickets are $25 at the door. Free for youth 16 and under. Tickets are available through the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra (purchase tickets for Pierre Cardin: Future Fashion separately).
