CaribBEING’s Heritage Film Series: Election Season Double Feature

Sunday, June 26, 2016

1 pm

Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium, 3rd Floor

Take a break from the political heat and join us as caribBEING's Heritage Film Series continues with an election season double feature.

1 p.m. Sweet Micky for President (Ben Patterson, 2015, 89 min.) follows Pras Michel, Brooklyn-born Grammy award–winning rapper and founder of the hip-hop group The Fugees, who ran the presidential campaign of Haiti’s most popular and outlandish pop star, Michel “Sweet Micky” Martelly.

3 p.m. Chisholm ‘72: Unbought and Unbossed (Shola Lynch, 2004, 77 min.) is a tribute to Brooklyn’s trailblazing Shirley Chisholm, the first black congresswoman in the U.S., who fought for change and became a popular candidate for president in 1972.
