Curator Talk and Screening: Beverly Buchanan—Ruins and Rituals

Saturday, October 22, 2016

2 pm

Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, 4th Floor

At 2 pm, join the curators of Beverly Buchanan—Ruins and Rituals for a lively conversation about the exhibition. Curator and writer Jennifer Burris and artist Park McArthur discuss in depth their encounters with Buchanan’s work, the development of the exhibition, and the importance of reviving Buchanan’s practice for new audiences at the Brooklyn Museum.

Archival video and audio will be shown alongside footage of Buchanan’s earthworks as they exist today, showcasing the relationship between Buchanan’s art and the places in Georgia and Florida where she worked.

We are committed to making our building and programs accessible to all. For more information or to request specific services, contact us at access@brooklynmuseum.org or 718.501.6229.
