Director's Circle Tour: Jeffrey Gibson: When Fire Is Applied to a Stone It Cracks

Wednesday, February 26, 2020

6–8 pm

Arts of the Americas Galleries, 5th Floor

This tour is now at capacity. To be added to the waitlist, please email directors.circle@brooklynmuseum.org.

Members of our patron groups are invited to celebrate the recent opening of Jeffrey Gibson: When Fire Is Applied to a Stone It Cracks with an in-depth look at the vibrant installation, which questions long-held institutional categorizations and representations of Indigenous peoples and Native American art. Eugenie Tsai, John and Barbara Vogelstein Curator of Contemporary Art, leads a special tour of the exhibition that offers perspective on Gibson's work as it stands in dialogue with objects from our collection.

To RSVP, please email individual.giving@brooklynmuseum.org or contact us directly at 718.501.6552.

Space is limited and reserved for members of the Director’s Circle, Brooklyn Families, Council for Feminist Art, Young Leadership Council, Contemporary Art Committee, and Council for African American Art. Your Membership must be current on the day of the event or you will need to renew your Membership in order to join the tour.

For questions or to upgrade your Membership, email individual.giving@brooklynmuseum.org.
