Drink and Draw: The Slipstream with David Shrobe

Thursday, July 15, 2021

6–7:30 pm and 8–9:30 pm

Biergarten, Steinberg Family Sculpture Garden

Sip and sketch in our backyard Biergarten this summer with a monthly series of life drawing classes, open to all levels and accompanied by a refreshing beverage and musical vibes by local DJs. This month, celebrate our newest contemporary art exhibition, The Slipstream: Reflection, Resilience, and Resistance in the Art of Our Time, with special guest host David Shrobe, who brings his experience creating multilayered portraits through assemblage to offer guidance throughout the evening. Sketch from live models and experiment with materials in a casual class led by teaching artist Mellasenah Nicole Edwards. Plus, enjoy musical vibes by Amber Valentine.

Tickets are $30 and include after-hours admission to The Slipstream, art materials in your own Brooklyn Museum tote, and a complimentary drink. Member tickets are $25. Not a Member? Join today!

This event takes place outdoors. In case of inclement weather, we will notify participants 24 hours in advance with the option to join us on an alternate date. We’re following procedures and guidelines laid out by the CDC and local health officials, including practicing social distancing for all activities. Masks are required for all adults and children over the age of 2. Indoor restrooms will be available.
