Educator Open House: Arts of Asia and the Islamic World Reopening

Thursday, October 20, 2022

4:30–7:30 pm

Education Studios (1st Floor) and Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium (3rd Floor)

Educators are invited to celebrate the full reopening of our Arts of Asia and the Islamic World galleries, back on view for the first time in over ten years, and learn ways to engage K–12 students with these collections. Throughout the evening, join an Arabic calligraphy workshop with calligrapher Elinor Aishah Holland, walk through the galleries with Joan Cummins, Lisa and Bernard Selz Senior Curator, Asian Art, and hear a talk from artist Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya on how art can fuel social movements.

This program is free; registration is required. Wine and light snacks will be provided.
