Jazz musician Diallo House and band members Brian Jackson, Jeremy "Bean" Clemons, Stacy Dillard, Kevin Louis, Tony Cortes, Mavis "Swan" Poole, and Belynda Jones pay homage to the 1990s hip-hop artist Keith “Guru” Elam, co-founder of the duo Gang Starr and a pioneer in bridging hip-hop and jazz. A preceding gallery talk takes place at 2 p.m., focusing on connections between the music performed and contemporary art in the Museum’s collection.
