Artists, including those featured in the exhibition Witness: Art and Civil Rights in the Sixties, come together for a series of intergenerational conversations and performances dealing with the challenges of cultural activism during the Civil Rights era and today. The afternoon’s schedule follows:



1–2:15 p.m.

Roundtable with Witness artists Jack Whitten, Bruce Davidson, and Mark di Suvero and artists LaToya Ruby Frazier and Abigail DeVille; moderated by Teresa A. Carbone, Andrew W. Mellon Curator of American Art.



2:30–3:45 p.m.

Roundtable with Witness artists Ademola Olugebefola and Jae Jarrell and artists Leslie Hewitt, Adam Pendleton, Steffani Jemison, and Kambui Olujimi; moderated by Kellie Jones, Associate Professor, Department of Art History and Archaeology, Columbia University.



4 p.m.

Performance by Guthrie P. Ramsey Jr., music scholar, pianist, and composer.
