Martha Bowers, faculty member at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, leads a two-part workshop focusing on the use of performance art for social change. This special class looks at the development of site-specific performance with an emphasis on projects that include activist agendas.



Using various mediums, you will complete short assignments inspired by Ai Weiwei and work toward creating a final hypothetical site project that will be shared for critique during the Sunday session.

Recommended for adventurous adults with some experience in at least one of the following: dance, theater, spoken word, poetry, photography, or visual art.
