St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble: Brahms and the Search for a Symphony
Sunday, June 24, 2018
2–4 pm
Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium, 3rd Floor
St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble closes the “Facets of Brahms” series with a symphonic afternoon. This performance features Johannes Brahms's Serenade No.1 in D, which might be considered his first symphony, as restored by Alan Boustead; and the charming Symphony No. 2 in D by Ludwig van Beethoven.
Stop by before the 2 pm concert for a discussion with A. J. Benson, Orchestra of St. Luke's director of artistic administration, who provides an introduction to the Beethoven symphony and reconstruction of Brahms's Serenade, as well as a context for Brahms's steps toward a symphonic form.

Tickets are $40 ($32 for Members) and are available at oslmusic.org.
