Abella of Salerno

Abella taught general medicine at the Salerno school of medicine, now considered to be the oldest medical school of modern civilization. She published two treatises, De atrabile (On Melancholia) and De natura seminis humani (On the Origin of Human Nature), neither of which is extant.
