Barbe De Verrue

Flourished 13th century, southern France

Barbe de Verrue was a troubadour (poet-musician) who, like Almucs de Castelnau and Beatrice de Die, composed poem-songs about courtly love. She is said to have traveled through towns singing her own verses, thereby acquiring a great fortune, and lived to an advanced age.
