Edna St. Vincent Millay

Edna St. Vincent Millay was an American actor, poet, and playwright. Upon her graduation from Vassar College in 1917, she published her Renascence and Other Poems and in 1923 became the first woman to be awarded the Pulitzer Prize in poetry. Millay’s poetry deals with the themes of bittersweet love, death, change, nature, and sorrow. Her other works include A Few Figs from Thistles (1920), Wine from the Grapes (1934), and The Murder of Lidice (1942).
