Hedwig Nordenflycht
b. 1718, Stockholm; d. 1763, Lugnet, near Stockholm
Hedvig Nordenflycht, a Swedish poet, was a major literary figure in Stockholm in the mid-eighteenth century. Her poetry, in which she explored her inner life, includes The Sorrowing Turtledove (1743), written after the deaths of her fiancé in 1737 and her husband in 1741. In the 1750s, she was elected to a literary society called the Tankarbyggarorden (Order of the Thought Builders).
