Susanna Lorantffy
b. 1600, Ónod, Hungary; d. 1660, Sárospatak, Hungary
A passionate Calvinist, Zsuzsanna Lorántffy was the wife of György Rákóczi I, prince of Transylvania, and a partner in his successful struggle to introduce Protestant reforms. She sponsored the founding or development of several educational institutions, including the Reformed College at Sárospatak.
