Gloria Steinem moderates a panel discussion featuring the co-editors of the groundbreaking book Sexual Violence against Jewish Women during the Holocaust, recently published by Brandeis University Press/University Press of New England. Dr. Sonja M. Hedgepeth and Dr. Rochelle G. Saidel, coeditors of the book, will speak with Nava Semel (author of And the Rat Laughed), Maman Jeanne Kasongo L. Ngondo (President and Founder of the Shalupe Foundation), and Jessica Neuwirth (founder of Equality Now) about the book and its genesis, as well as the current state of rape and genocide worldwide, asking: Can this new understanding of sexual violence during the Holocaust decrease and prevent sexual violence during other genocides?
