Explore the connection between painting and social movements as you visit the exhibition We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965–85. Examine the work of Howardena Pindell in particular as you experiment with texture, color, and abstraction in your own paintings.
The Artist’s Book
Saturday Session, 2–5 pm
Learn to use printmaking as a tool for layering unexpected connections between text, color, and representative imagery while making your own handmade book. Find inspiration in artist books, such as Wasily Kandinsky’s and Franz Marc’s Der Blaue Reiter Almanac and Evelyn Eller’s The Blue Book.
Full payment must be made at registration. A discount and priority registration are available to all Museum Members, including those at the Individual/Dual level ($75/$125) and above for adult classes and at the Insider level ($250) and above for all classes. Cancellation refunds are considered on an individual basis. Parking is available for Gallery/Studio students and families. After the free 15-minute drop-off period, the hourly rate applies.
