Reframed: Digital Photography
Full summer weekend term, Saturdays, 1–3 p.m.
Examine the influence of non-Western art on modern and contemporary art, and create photographic tributes to cultures of the world that express your own story. Students will explore photography and layering of imagery, drawing inspiration from works by Jean-Michel Basquiat and objects from Double Take: African Innovations and Connecting Cultures: A World in Brooklyn.
Stained, Inked, Illustrated

Section 2: Full summer weekend term, Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Section 2 is now full.
Learn about line quality and washes with diverse materials from ink to watercolor to coffee, incorporating techniques used in illustration. Take inspiration from American nineteenth-century paintings and the special exhibition FAILE. Then sketch outdoors and study models in the studio to create paintings and drawings focused on the figure and landscape.

Full payment must be made at registration. A discount and priority registration are available to all Museum Members, including those at the Individual level ($60) and above for adult classes, and those at the Family level ($110) and above for all classes. Cancellation refunds considered on an individual basis.
Parking is available for Gallery/Studio students and families. There's a 15-minute drop-off period that's free of charge. After 15 minutes, the hourly rate applies.
