October 9, 1925
The Brooklyn Museum announces that on October 9th a Special Exhibition of Norwegian Art will be presented concurrently with the local celebration of the Norwegian-American centennial. The Museum is especially interested in the arts of the Scandinavian countries and it is planned to devote several rooms in its new building to the permanent display of its own collections which will represent a field of art which it is felt has not heretofore been given a sufficently important position in the public exhibitions of this kind. The present exhibition of Norwegian art is composed partly of objects selected from the Museum's hitherto unexhibited material and of a number of loans which have been contributed by Norwegians of Greater New York and will comprise examples of painting, furniture, textiles and handicraft.
