The Institute at the Academy of Music will open two exhibitions in the galleries of the Brooklyn Museum on Sunday, April 16th, at 4:00 P.M. to continue through April 30th. One is the Spring Exhibition of the Work of the Art Students in the Institute’s Extension School including water color, oil painting, drawing and sculpture. The other is the Annual Exhibition of Photographs by Members of the Department of Photography at the Institute. In the students’ work there will be a special section devoted to commercial illustration. The instructors whose classes are represented are John R. Koopman, Robert Brackman, Robert Laurent, John I. Bindrum, Louis Chap and Lu Kimmel. The photographs will cover the full range of camera interest; a special section of the show will be devoted to candid camera shots. The Department of Photography of the Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences is one of the oldest camera groups in the country. The opening on Sunday, April 16th, will be a private showing for members and guests of the Institute. The exhibitions will be open to the public beginning Monday, April 17th.
