  • February 6, 1947 A small exhibition of photographs by Dr. D. J. Ruzicka will be shown in the Photographic Gallery of the Brooklyn Museum from February 6 to March 6.

    Dr. Ruzicka was born in 1870 in Prague, Bohemia. He came to the United States in 1877, graduated from Medical School in 1891 and practiced medicine for 35 years. He took up photography as a hobby in 1901 and started exhibiting all over the world in 1910. Dr. Ruzicka is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain and the Photographic Society of America and is also honorary member of numerous clubs in both Europe and America. He now specializes in views of New York City. His favorite camera is a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 roll film camera and a 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 roll camera, both over 20 years old. He also uses a Rolleiflex and a Retina for the kodachrome slides. Most of his prints are developed in adurol and copied on slow chloride paper, frequently toned.
