On Friday, February 20, an exhibition of photographs by Ilse Bing will be opened in the Photographic Gallery of the Brooklyn Museum. The exhibition will remain on view through March 20.
As one of the early exponents of “candid” photography, Ilse Bing’s work is predominantly realistic. Her main interest is in photographing children, always portraying them in a natural unposed way.
Although born in Germany, Ilse Bing belongs to France where she had her studio from 1930 to 1940 in Paris. In 1941 she came to the United States and now has her studio in New York City.
