  • Summer approximately 1952: An exhibition of posters from Puerto Rico will be held in the Art School gallery of the Brooklyn Museum from June 18 thru July 9.

Designed and executed by native Puerto Ricon artists under the direction of Irene Delano and Lorenzo Homar (a former student of the Brooklyn Museum Art School) the posters are distributed to the rural areas of Puerto Rico by the Division of Community Education.

Reproduced by the silk screen method after original drawings by Diaz, Hernandez, Figueroa, Palacios, Tufino, Rosado del Valle and others, the posters graphically reflect the varied problems of rural education and depict the struggles and aspirations of the people of Puerto Rico.

A notable feature of the exhibition is the original color design for EL PUENTE (The Bridge) a poster which will be printed as soon as the exhibition is returned to Puerto Rico.

The exhibition is open daily and Saturday from 10 to 5 P.M. and Holidays and Sunday from 1 to 5 P.M.
