  • December 13, 1981 BROOKLYN PAPER WORKS, an exhibition of works by twenty Brooklyn artists, will be on view in the Community Gallery of The Brooklyn Museum from December 13 through January 24.

    This exhibition features Brooklyn artists who work on, of, or with paper. Involving many of the ways in which the medium of paper is used in contemporary art, the works include drawings, paintings, prints, collages, and cast sculpture. This exhibition was organized with the assistance of Mariella Bisson.

    In conjunction with the exhibition, gallery talks will be given by participating artists. The talks will take place in the Community Gallery as follows: Sunday, January 10, at 3:30 P.M.: “Paper and the Artist”, Mariella Bisson; Saturday, January 23, at 2:00 P.M.: “Casting of Handmade Paper”, Larry Heintjes; and Sunday, January 24, at 2:00 P.M.: “Uses of Paper in the Orient”, Richard Franklin (trained in papermaking in Korea).

    Other artists participating in the exhibition are: Noah Baen, Lewis Bryden, Kay Davis, Pamela Dreyfus, Drew Fishman, Felicity Frisbie, Enrico Giordano, Terry Haas, David Kapp, Don Kimes, Despo Magoni, Mary Rieser, Raul Serrano, George Smith, Elyse Taylor, Nancy Wu, and Jan Zay.
