Catalogue Description:
Fragment of black basalt (a corner of a rectangular coffin?) inscribed on three sides with hieroglyphs in plain-incised relief. The polished top edge slants downward towards the front with a projection upwards in the rear. The rear and bottom surfaces are not preserved. The decoration is as follows: Front: At the top are two winged men kneeling on 'neb' baskets. Between the two is the inscription ‘Pth ‘3(?) rsy ‘inb’ ‘Great Ptah who-is-south-of-his-wall’ Below this line is a line which gives twice, once from the left to right and once from the right to the left, the phrase, ‘nh, hsy ‘3 n ntr nfr,’ ‘The one greatly praised of the good god lives’. The three columns give the deceased’s' titles (center column) of hereditary-prince and count (iry-p’t, hsty-r); and the common offering formula (htp di ns’w). Left side: Bears a decorative border enclosing a 'Was'-scepter resting on a 'neb' basket. Below this is the title ‘imy-r niwt,’ ‘overseer of the City’. Right side: Top same as left side. Below title of Overseer is 'imntt ntr-tmr.' Condition: Good.
