Catalogue Description:
Poi pounder of black stone. Lower portion is round with flat bottom surface for pounding. Shaft/handle is topped by two carved heads, facing opposite directions, with large round eyes and large open mouths with partially protruding tongues. Geometric ornament carved in area between two heads. Handle plus heads form an overall phallic shape. Condition: Stone surface is pitted overall.
