Catalogue Description:
Bowl, porcelain. Shallow, circular bowl with undulating gilt rim comprising six flanges, which rise above body of bowl. Each flange is shaped with corners turning inward and the rim between them is scalloped. Circular gilt line outlines foot rim on the interior and exterior. On exterior, the ivory-colored bowl is decorated with an orange poppy in each flange, each connected by trailing vines in gilt and green leaves; poppies and leaves outlined and articulated in gilt. CONDITION: Gilding on rim is worn. Chips along rim include a chip to the right edge of one flange; on the flange to the right of this there is a deep chip at the right base of the flange and a smaller chip on scallop of rim to right; next flange to right has a small chip at tip; next flange has small chip to left of tip and two chips on scallop to right; next flange OK; next flange OK; small chip to scalloped rim to right.
