Catalogue Description:
Slop or waste bowl; silver, cast and repoussé decoration; part of a six-piece tea and coffee service (75.164.1-.6). Circular stepped base, inset squat stem, circular body narrowing toward top, inset neck broadening flange collar around top. Repoussé decoration consists of band of stylized acanthus around body; almond-shaped lozenge with stylized acanthus border enclosing seated Cupid figure blowing horn. Same lozenge on reverse enclosing engraved monogram, "MAC". Raised or cast molding around base of neck and top flange. Interior appears gold-washed (?). CONDITION: Excellent; minor scratches on interior.
