Catalogue Description: Jardinière (b) and pedestal stand (a), glazed earthenware. Base (a) is a squat hourglass form. The overall pattern is a vertical, rhythmic rib design (gadrooning), alternating between thicker and thin ribs. The center has a raised horizontal band. The form resembles a stylized haystack. The jardinière (b) has a flared bulbous form. It has a similar gadrooned design to the stand but is swirled rather than vertical and is without a center band. Both pieces have a cream based color, with random areas of browns and turquoise. The glaze is possibly flint. Condition: Good overall. Upper rim of base (a) has two glaze imperfections and a chip where a third glaze imperfection once occurred. Three cracks are visible on the interior of the base. Jardinière has two chips on the bottom. Various small cracks visible on the interior.
